We welcome you to the 4th International Conference on Geographical Science for Resilient Communities, Ecosystems and Livelihoods under Global Environmental Change (GORILLA). We pledge to take good care of all the expected participants and demonstrate the scientific, organizational and sociocultural rigors expected at a conference of this magnitude in Uganda.
The GORILLA conferences have seen a steady rise in the number of participants, the geographic diversity and the intergenerational configuration. The GORILLA conference gives a unique opportunity to consistently on a biannual basis reflect on the journal travelled on agenda 2030, interrogating whether the research, innovations and technological developments are matching and appropriate to the gaps identified. Similarly, we also use the platform to variously build capacities especially of the young and early career researchers through exposure and skilling with novel and emerging skills and knowledge critical generating solutions to the contemporary development challenges. Needless to say that GORILLA is the most unique and consistent conference on the African Continent addressing Agenda 2030. We are confident that the 4th GORILLA International Conference will be a great platform for networking and connections. But it will also be a great opportunity to explore the unique geographical landscape of Uganda, its sociocultural landscape.
We warmly implore you to participate in the 4th GORILLA conference by presenting your research, sharing practical experiences, engaging in dialogue, and building partnerships that extend beyond the conference. By coming together in Uganda, we reaffirm our collective commitment to advancing solutions that are locally grounded, scientifically robust and globally relevant, contributing meaningfully to Agenda 2030.
We look forward to welcoming you to Uganda for an inspiring and impactful GORILLA Conference.
